In real estate transactions, it is a frequently asked question who will cover the commission paid to the real estate consultant. According to the legal regulations in force in Turkey, the real estate commission can be paid by both the buyer and the seller.

If the sale transaction is carried out through a real estate agent, both the buyer and the seller are obliged to pay a commissionof 2%of the sale price. In addition, Value Added Tax (VAT) is also included in these rates. In other words, a total commission of 4% + VAT can be charged for a sale completed through a real estate office. However, this rate is the maximum (highest) limit. These rates may be reduced or determined differently by written agreements between the parties.
